WYFH HIstory
In 2024, a skills clinic hosted by the Westford Academy Field Hockey team sparked interest in building a youth program in town. Recognizing that several players wanted to find a seasonal team, founders Kassia Spanos and Liz Magee enrolled their daughters alongside other Westford players in Strikers Fall Clinic. Soon, eleven enthusiastic players needed a team to call their own. Chelmsford’s Susan D’Agostino welcomed the group and helped support them through their first season as “Westford Ghosts”.
In early 2026, with the knowledge learned from Susan, Kassia and Liz established Westford Youth Field Hockey Association as an independent nonprofit organization. What started with eleven players has grown into a community committed to giving young athletes opportunities to learn, compete, and belong.
Our Board of Directors carries that vision forward—building a welcoming program, supporting our coaches and families, and creating a strong foundation for the next generation of Westford field hockey players.
Along the way, several people have made monumental impacts for the program.

A COMMUNITY EFFORT
Good teams need
people off the field, too.
Coaches, team parents, and volunteers help make practices and game days possible.
